Our First Day in Washington D.C.

Wow! We covered more territory today than I thought. The girls were troopers. They quickly learned how to navigate the subway, and we rode downtown. We saw the White House and Washington Monument. Then we trekked over to the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and finally the Vietnam Memorial. I was very impressed with the Korean War Memorial. We had beautiful weather. Throughout the day, Erika Lyn was identifying architectural designs for us. Emily spotted all of the squirrels and dogs while we walked the memorials. Oma was a trooper as I lead the bunch at a quick pace. Today was my first time seeing the Korean War Memorial; I was deeply moved. I really enjoyed watching the girls take pictures and their excitement as they recognized things (mostly from Night at the Museum, but hey?). We're off to a great start!
